Prof. Dr. Behice Durgun, 1957 yılında Nusaybin’de doğdu. İlk, orta ve lise eğitimini Adana’da tamamladı. 1980 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Fen Fakültesi Biyoloji Bölümünden mezun oldu. Aynı yıl Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Anatomi Anabilim Dalında asistan olarak çalışmaya başladı. Aynı anabilim dalında; 1985 yılında Yüksek Lisans, 1988 yılında Doktora derecesini aldı. 1989 yılında yardımcı doçent olarak atandı. 1991 yılında İskoçya’da Dundee Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Patoloji Anabilim Dalında ‘Mercapotoetanol- formaldehitin  protein retensiyonuna etkisi’ konulu projesiyle, doktora sonrası çalışmasını tamamladı. 1995 yılında Doçent, 2001 yılında Profesör unvanını aldı. 2002 yılında Köln Spor Üniversitesi Biyomekanik Laboratuvarında incelemelerde bulundu. Halen Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Anatomi Anabilim Dalında çalışmakta,  Mühendislik Fakültesi ve Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsünde de dersler vermektedir.  Başlıca çalışma konuları; doku ve organların plastinasyonu, hızlı fiksasyonun makroskopik dokulara ve proteinlerin moleküler yapısına etkisi, klinik anatomi, nöroanatomi, gelişimsel anatomi, radyolojik anatomi, kinezyolojik anatomi (antropometri, spor, nörokinezyoloji, ergonomi, tasarım, biyomekanik modelleme ve biyomedikal mühendislik uygulamaları)’dir. Anatomi ve Klinik Anatomi Derneği, Tıp Eğitimi Derneği, Spor Bilimleri Derneği, British Association of Clinical Anatomists (BACA), International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), New York Academy of Sciences üyesidir. International Reviewers Panel’ e dahil edilmiş olup, Clinical Anatomy, Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Indian Journal of Medical Sciences, Medical Science Monitor ve benzeri  dergilerde hakemlik yapmaktadır. Üç uluslararası ödülü bulunmaktadır. Bir erkek çocuk annesidir.

Behice Durgun was born in Nusaybin / Mardin / Turkey, in 1957. She completed primary and secondary education in Adana. She was graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in 1980, then she became research assistant at the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Çukurova University. She received her MSc degree in 1985 and PhD degree in 1988 from the same department. In 1989, she was attended as assistant professor at Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Çukurova University. She continued her postdoctorate study (the effects of mercaptoethanol-formaldehyde on tissue fixation and protein retention) as a visiting scientist and project manager in  Department of Pathology, Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee, UK, in 1991. She received his associate professor title in 1995. She has been working in the same department as professor since 2001. For biomechanical studies, she visited German Sport University Cologne (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln), in 2002. She has been teaching students in medicine, dentristy, physical education and  in engineering. Her scientific fields of interest are plastination, the effects of rapid fixation on macroscopic and molecular structure, clinical anatomy, neuroanatomy, radiologic anatomy, kinesiological anatomy  (with an emphasis on anthropometry, sports, neurokinesiology, biomechanical modeling, ergonomics, device design and biomedical engineering).  She has three international awards. She is a member of  the Turkish Society of Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy,  Turkish Medical Education Society, Turkish Sports Sciences Society, British Association of Clinical Anatomists (BACA) and International Brain Research Organization (IBRO). She is also a member of International Reviewers Panel. She has been a reviewer for Clinical Anatomy, Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Indian Journal of Medical Sciences and Medical Science Monitor.
